Set your computer’s default callto: program to make sure the appropriate phone system opens when you click on a phone number in LACRM:
Changing your default callto: program on Windows 11:
- Open the Start menu on your computer. Select the "Settings" option with a gear icon from the list that appears.
- In the dialog that opens, select “Apps” on the left, and then choose “Default apps.”
- Select the appropriate phone system in the list (you may need to scroll down the page).
- On the next page, find the “CALLTO” option and select the desired phone system to save that as the default phone.
- Note that “TEL” is also a phone option; if the “CALLTO” option doesn’t work you may need to update the “TEL” option instead.
- Note that Windows 11 is the most recent version of Windows. If you’re on Windows 10 follow the instructions below instead.
Changing your default callto: program on Windows 10:
- Open the Start menu on your computer. Select the "Settings" option with a gear icon from the list that appears.
- In the dialog that opens enter "Default apps" in the search bar, and select the "Default apps" option.
- Near the bottom of the dialog, select “Choose default apps by protocol.”
- Find the option for “CALLTO,” select the option that appears there (likely Skype), and then choose the desired phone system to save that as the default phone.
- Note that “TEL” is also a phone option; if the “CALLTO” option doesn’t work you may need to update the “TEL” option instead.
- Note that Windows 10 is an older version of Windows. If you're on Windows 11 follow the directions above instead.
Changing your default callto: program on a Mac:
- Open the “Facetime” application on your computer.
- Select “Facetime” in the navigation, then choose “Preferences” in the dropdown.
- Find the “Default for calls” option near the bottom of the dialog that opens.
- Select the dropdown, and then choose the phone system you would like to use.
