An LACRM pipeline masterclass

Pipelines are one of the main tools that makes LACRM much more than just a spreadsheet or a contact list. Here are some bonus pipeline features you might not have known about.
Updated on:

#1: Move pipeline items between records

Did you know that when you attach a pipeline to a contact, you can move that pipeline badge over to another contact (or company)? Click here for a tutorial on how to do that.

💡 This feature is handy for fixing any mistakes during data entry, or probably more realistically: whenever your main point of contact switches jobs or is no longer in charge of the sale/project/opportunity you were working on with them.

This lets you grab that pipeline item from the old contact and move it over to your new point of contact without having to duplicate any information!

#2: Share a pipeline only with the teammates who need to use it

There are no limits to the number of pipelines you can have for your account -- if you have a process you need to track, create a pipeline for it!

But it helps keeps teams focused if they only see the pipelines they need to care about, instead of everyone's pipelines. So feel free to restrict access to specific pipelines to certain teams of users.

💡 This feature is especially handy if you have multiple departments working together in one CRM, or if you have independent salespeople with their own sales pipeline they need to maintain!

#3: Copy your existing pipeline to make a brand new one

Sometimes you just end up building a perfect pipeline with all the right statuses and custom fields. Then you realize you'd like to use this same structure for a different process. Instead of building a whole new pipeline (and custom fields) from the ground up, why not just duplicate the existing one and start from there?

💡 This feature is handy if there's an overlap between the processes you need to track (e.g. following up with a new lead can look similar to following up with an existing client), or if you have different departments that need similar pipelines!

#4: Use pipeline date fields to link your pipeline to your calendar

If you need to stay on top of lots of dates (e.g. closing dates, renewals, inspections, follow-ups etc.), it can be helpful to create those as date fields on your pipeline so that you can pre-populate your calendar with important dates.

💡 This feature is handy in particular if you know what these dates will be as soon as someone starts moving through your pipeline. This way, you can add all of these dates to your contact's pipeline item in one go and have them all populate on your calendar at once. No more having to manually set reminders each time!
